Email templates can be efficiently created using the Advantus interface. The Advantus platform provides a user-friendly template editor that allows you to design, customise, personalise, and manage your email templates with ease.
Go to the "Template" tab.
Select the option "New Template" from the top right side.
Note: If you haven’t configured your email setup before, you will see the null state asking to "Configure Email Setup" instead. Configure the platform and repeat step 1 to create a template.
Now, provide the following details:
Field | Action |
---|---|
Select the template type | Choose "Email" from the available options. |
Enter the template name | Use a descriptive name to help identify the template later. |
Enter an email subject line | This will be the subject line recipients see when they receive the email. |
Enter a reply-to email address | This is where replies will be directed or where recipients can communicate with you. |
Enter a preview text | This short snippet appears next to or below the subject line in email previews. |
Drag & Drop HTML email design builder | Enable this option to create a customised email template. It allows easy addition and arrangement of elements like text, images, and buttons. |

Save | Once your email template is complete, click on the "Save" button. |
What is template id?
A template id is a unique identifier assigned to each template by Advantus. It is used to reference specific templates within the API.
The Drag & Drop HTML email builder is a powerful feature that allows you to create visually appealing and hyper-personalised email templates. To help you create email templates aligned with your brand colour and vision, follow these steps:
To utilise the drag and drop email builder, ensure the option Drag & Drop HTML email design builder is enabled.
Once enabled, you will be redirected to the user-friendly interface. From here, you can leverage a variety of pre-defined blocks simply by dragging and dropping them onto the interface. This includes three main options:
Feature | Description |
---|---|
Content | To add and customise text, images, buttons, and other elements to populate the body of your email. |
Rows | Rows help you align and position your content effectively, making your email look clean and well-organised. |
Settings | This section allows you to set up responsive design options to ensure your email looks great on all devices. |
From the content section, you can add various elements like text blocks, images, and buttons. You can also customise each element such as fonts, images and more to fit your brand's style, and use the drag-and-drop functionality to position them precisely where you want.
From the rows section, use rows to structure your email template. Rows help in organising the layout and ensuring that different sections of your email are properly aligned. You can add multiple rows and adjust their width and spacing to create a balanced design.
From the settings section, configure the settings to adjust the overall appearance of your email template. This includes setting background colors, margins, and padding. Make sure to review and test the email across different devices to ensure it displays correctly.
Once your email template is complete, click on the "Save" button.
In the Templates tab, you can view all the templates you have created. From the same window, you can select the "Options" button and view, edit, duplicate, delete a template, or send it to a test user.
To view the email template, open the template from the list. Now, click on the "View your designed HTML email" button. From the same window, you can also edit the email template by clicking on the "Edit template" button.
To edit the HTML email template, click on the "Edit your designed HTML email" button. After editing and saving the template, click on the "Update template" button.
