A segment is a subgroup within a larger population that shares common characteristics or traits.
Advantus segmentation empowers you to deliver personalised and compelling messages to targeted users. These segments can be defined based on criteria like demographics, behaviours, or preferences, and are used for precise marketing or analysis purposes.

From all applications window, select App Options > View > Audience.
Create a segment using the “Import Users” option.
Upload a CSV file containing the users' details. Please note that the email ID should be the first column and contain an external user ID.
The essential parameters are:
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Email ID | The email addresses of the recipients or your targeted audience. |
External user ID | This unique tag, assigned by you, is provided to your users within the CSV file. |
Up to 20 variable columns | This is a dynamic field that allows you to add up to 20 variable columns in your CSV file such as age, name, location, etc. |
UUID | A unique ID provided by Advantus and is used when updating the audience details. |
Provide a segment name to distinguish the different user segments.
Just as you click the “create segment” button, your segment is created.
There are two ways to create multiple segments:
This approach is helpful when you want to create segment lists first and add the audience later.
To edit the segment name, go to Options > Edit.
Enter the new segment name and update.
To delete the segment, go to Options > Delete.
Note: Once you delete the segment, you won't be able to recover the data.
